I'm back today with another episode of my radio features of "The Breaks", live on Hertz 87.9 . In tonight's broadcast the music will be all about sampling and remaking some of the most awsome funk and soul classics, that's why I simply named it "The Samples".
The concept is easy: The were will be 14 tracks, 7 remakes and 7 originals where the remake is always followed by its source of inspiration. So you will get a nice mixture of sick rap music and that classic jazz and funk sound.
To listen to the show, just click on the banner in the sidebar where it says "live stream". My feature starts at 22.00 CET.
Tracklist:
01 Warren G – Runnin’ Wit No Breaks
02 Les McCann & Eddie Harris – Go On And Cry
03 MC Eiht – All For The Money
04 Tyrone Davis – In The Mood

Snoop Dogg visits twitter central office
Now this is extremely funny!
Snoop Dogg just sent out a video where he's visiting the twitter headquarters with his recent entourage (you can see Kurupt, Daz, Mac Shawn 100, Soopafly and newcomer Pilot). They're having a good time smoking weed in the office and the big Dogg gives a little preview of his upcoming album "Doggumentary Music".
Have a look and a laugh!

Bootsy Collins readies "Tha Funk Capitol of the World"
Funk legend and former Parliament-Funkadelic member Bootsy Collins will be releasing a new album in April. The project is entitled "Tha Funk Capitol of the World" and is the bass player's first album since his 2006 christmas album "Christmas Is 4 Ever". In a recent interview on billboard.com, Bootsy stated “Since I’m still here, I really wanted to connect those dots…so young people can see that what they think is so new isn’t so new.” referring to the death of some his former colleagues like James Brown.
So we can expect a fresh new album bringing back that good old funk music, that crazy psychedelic sound but with some special surprise moments. At least the guest list lets us suspect this as people like Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Musiq Soulchild, George Clinton, Bobby Womack, Samuel L. Jackson and many more are featured on this record. Even the godfather of guitar, Jimi Hendrix, will have a little appearence. Check the tracklist below. If that's not enough to get you hyped, I don't know what else could get you funked up!
Tha Funk Capitol of the World Tracklist:
01. Intro
02. Hip Hop @ Funk U (feat. Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, & Chuck D)
03. Mirrors Tell Lies (feat Jimi Hendrix)
04. JB-Still the Man (feat. Rev. Al Sharpton)

Big Terrace Martin drop
For one of the musically and critically aclaimed most successful artists of 2010, Terrace Martin, the new year will be extremely busy. He recently announced two new projects. A follow-up to his fans-beloved free album "Here, My Dear" called "The Sex EP" and the sequel to his last physical CD "Locke High", simply entitled "Locke High 2".
As for that, he just dropped a bunch of new tracks with featurings of none other than Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Lucc and more. Check them below:
Snoop Dogg feat. J. Black - Exersize
Terrace Martin feat. Kendrick Lamar & Cyhi Da Prince - Thirsty
Kurupt, Kendrick Lamar & Bad Lucc - Get Bizy
As if this isn't enough, he will also drop a collabo EP with underground lyricist Murs called "The Melrose". This is meant to be something unusual for both of them that they're doing just for fun. You can see that in their first video which is also titled "Melrose".
"The Melrose" is set to drop on February 8th, 2011
"The Sex EP" is set to drop on February 13th, 2011
and "Locke High 2" is planned to to be released sometime in spring or early summer. Be on the look out!

Y'all can look out for some tight records to come out in 2011 though.
Some interesting yet to come out records are:
Dr. Dre - Detox (first and foremost)
DJ Quik - The Book Of David
Snoop Dogg - Doggumentary Music
WC - Revenge Of The Barracuda
Terrace Martin - tba
MC Eiht - Which Way Iz West
E-40 - Revenue Retrievin: Overtime Shift and Graveyard Shift
E-40 & Too $hort - The History Channel
I hope y'all are having a good and delicate start into 2011. Be on the look out for more dope Si-Chill music as well. I'll keep working, I hope y'all keep living!
